Day 2 On Celebrity Silhouette Bravo Cruise, A Sea Day And Alfie Boe

Share

Today was our first sea day onboard Celebrity Silhouette’s Bravo Cruise

We awoke to glorious sunshine and a full day ahead of us to chill out and explore. And started out the morning in the Ocean View café for breakfast, I am not usually a fan of buffet restaurants but the quality and choice is amazing, even offering my all time favourite, eggs benedict, whilst Joe filled a plate with fruit, it was all so delicious and as the staff sang as they served coffee the atmosphere was great.

The morning  was spent exploring and enjoying frothy cappuccino’s and cookies in Café al Bacio. You can see where this is going can’t you? We have decided to do the stairs and not use the lift where possible; our cabin is on deck 8 so this is do-able! And counteracts all this blooming amazing food.

After we watched Joe play football and get his daily fix on the Xbox Kinect, the afternoon was spent chilling by the pool, Joe and Chris bobbing between the pool and the basket ball court.

There are hardly any kids on onboard, I suppose that is to be expected with the nature of the cruise, but being a huge theatre fan it really is performing arts heaven on here. With so many acts, covering jazz, swing, and theatre it really is like being immersed in the best theatre bubble ever.

As a family we generally look for cruises that are packed to the rafters with activities but still offer quality and luxury.

However, sometimes it’s wonderful to just chill out and spend time together. Jack (our oldest son) has not accompanied us on this trip due to college and work commitments, it’s the first cruise we have done without him and its weird. We miss him so much; the crazy thing is he would have loved the tranquility, luxury and lack of hoards of small children on Celebrity. I think this is the real key with cruising there is something to suit all families of all tastes.

Dinner was delicious, but the highlight off the evening was Alfie Boe.

It was always going to be amazing and he did not disappoint, however just when we thought it couldn’t get any better Joe was invited onto the stage. Not jealous at all, ha ha. Check out the video here!  Bless him OMG he got to sit on stage as Alfie Boe sang! The show was breathtaking and supported by the National Symphony Orchestra who are just wonderful.

The Food On The Celebrity Silhouette

After Alfie we went to watch the Stomping Ivories who are the coolest and loveliest group of guys. The night was rounded up with a silent disco the maddest and funniest thing I have ever seen, a disco where everyone has headphones but you can choose from 3 music channels so everyone is dancing to different music. It was crazy but so much fun! Tomorrow we dock in Bilbao where we are off to explore the town and eat tapas. Here is what we got up to on day 1.
