Whether you’re planning your first cruise or are a seasoned cruiser, here are ten essential tips to make your time aboard Oasis of the Seas unforgettable.

1. There Are Seven Neighbourhoods To Explore

The ship’s innovative design includes distinct neighbourhoods such as Central Park (a lush outdoor area with real plants), the Boardwalk (featuring a carousel and AquaTheater), and the Royal Promenade (great for shopping and parties). Take time to explore these unique spaces. The neighbourhoods are….

  1. Central Park
  2. Boardwalk
  3. Royal Promenade
  4. Pool and Sports Zone
  5. Vitality Spa and Fitness Center
  6. Entertainment Place
  7. Youth Zone

2. Book Entertainment Early

Oasis of the Seas offers incredible shows like AquaTheater’s diving performances, the Broadway-style production of Cats, and ice-skating shows. Reservations for these fill up quickly, so book through the Cruise Planner app as soon as they become available, which is often before your cruise. However, we managed to book slots onboard.

3. Don’t Miss the Thrills

Thrill-seekers will love the Ultimate Abyss, a 10-story dry slide, and the FlowRider surf simulators. There’s also a zipline that stretches across the Boardwalk, offering an adrenaline-pumping experience with fantastic views.

4. Dining Options Are Plentiful

Beyond the complimentary dining venues like Windjammer and the Main Dining Room, Oasis of the Seas features exceptional speciality restaurants. Try 150 Central Park for fine dining, Izumi for sushi, or PlayMakers for a classic diner experience.

5. Oasis of the Seas Is Perfect for Families

Families will love the Adventure Ocean Youth Program and activities like mini-golf, rock climbing, water slides and a carousel on the Boardwalk. There’s even a splash zone in the Water Park for younger kids.

6. The Ultimate in Relaxation

For a quieter experience, retreat to the Solarium, an adults-only area with pools, whirlpools, and incredible ocean views. Spa lovers can indulge in treatments at the Vitality Spa. The promenade deck on deck five has a running track, which is a great way to keep fit if you are not a fan of the gym.

7. Check Out All The Quirky Art

The ship has cute statues and artwork everywhere. Spend a little time tracking it all down; it makes a great scavenger hunt for kiddies.

8. Invest in a Drinks Package

With many bars onboard, including the Bionic Bar, where robot bartenders mix your drinks, the Ultimate Beverage Package can be a great deal. Remember, speciality tea, coffee, soft drinks and water are also included. Book in advance for discounted rates.

9. Cabin Selection Tips

Central Park and Boardwalk-view balcony staterooms offer unique sights but might have some noise. If you prefer ocean views, go for an ocean-facing balcony. Interior cabins with virtual balconies are a budget-friendly yet high-tech option. We opted for a Grand Suite, which had access to the suite lounge and sun deck. This cost more, but we felt it was worth it for the upscale service.

10. Stay Connected with VOOM Internet

Make sure you turn your data roaming off at sea; the costs are astronomical. Oasis offers VOOM internet, which is perfect for staying connected or streaming your favourite shows. Look for pre-cruise discounts to save on Wi-Fi packages and book packages for two devices for one person and share. We often do this, and it works well.

By planning ahead and taking advantage of these tips, you can make the most of your time aboard this incredible ship and create memories that will last a lifetime.
