Test your surfing skills on this 40-foot-long wave simulator, available on many Royal Caribbean ships. This is a real crowd-puller and an activity our family has always loved. Our boys were body boarding as soon as they were tall enough. - Zip Line
I tried the zip line for the first time last year on Oasis of the Seas. Found on Oasis-class ships, this thrilling ride takes you across the ship, high above the Boardwalk neighbourhood. - Rock Climbing Wall on Royal Caribbean
A signature feature on all Royal Caribbean ships, the rock-climbing wall offers breathtaking views and a fun challenge. It’s an excellent activity for the whole family and one that makes us all a little competitive. - Ultimate Abyss
The tallest slide at sea, this 10-story dry slide (on Oasis-class ships) provides an exhilarating descent. It’s not just for kids; we love the slide, and it’s so much fun. - RipCord by iFLY
Experience the thrill of skydiving in this wind tunnel simulator on Quantum-class ships. I have to say I was terrified before trying the iFlY, but it’s such an incredible experience. - North Star
An observation capsule that rises 300 feet above sea level for panoramic views, available on Quantum-class ships. Book this as soon as you board the ship to get it free on a port day.
Family-Friendly Activities On Royal Caribbean
- Splashaway Bay
A water park designed for kids, featuring slides, water cannons, and fountains. This is a feature so many cruise lines don’t offer, but it is essential if you are cruising with a baby or toddler. - Water Slides
Not only is there a toddler water park, Royal Caribbean has huge water slides for older kids and adults. These slides are huge and perfect for adrenaline seekers. Not all Royal Caribbean ships have water slides, but a large percentage of them do. - Ice Skating Rink
Available on Voyager, Freedom, and Oasis-class ships, guests can skate at sea or enjoy spectacular ice shows. The shows are incredible, plus it’s such a great family activity during a seas day and one our kids love. - Mini-Golf
A fun, family-friendly activity is available on many ships. The Mini Golf is so underrated; we play it every time we cruise. - Laser Tag
Engage in high-tech battles in themed arenas, such as the glow-in-the-dark “Battle for Planet Z.” - Adventure Ocean Youth Program
Royal Caribbean’s award-winning kids’ program offers age-appropriate activities for children and teens. When our kids were younger, they used to beg to stay in the kids’ club; Royal Caribbean make the clubs so much fun.

Pamper yourself with massages, facials, and wellness treatments, or enjoy state-of-the-art gym facilities. - Solarium
It is an over 18, adults-only retreat with whirlpools, loungers, and serene views found on most ships. This is a great place to retreat to to get away from the busier pool decks or avoud the sun. - Pools and Hot Tubs
Multiple pools and whirlpools, including infinity pools on newer ships, are perfect for relaxing.

Found on Oasis-class ships, these high-dive and acrobatic shows take place in an open-air amphitheatre. If you have seen the Aqua Show, then add it to the list; it’s incredible; we watched the Aqua 80 show, and wow, the talent is incredible. It is one not to miss; the show is a combination of acrobatics, synchronised swimming and diving to the best 80s soundtrack. - Broadway-Style Performances
Enjoy productions of Broadway hits like Cats, Grease or Mamma Mia! on Oasis class ships. We loved Cats on Oasis of the Seas and are looking forwards to Mama Mia on our next cruise on Allure of the Seas. - Casino Royale
Try your luck at the onboard casino with slots, poker, and table games. - Live Music and Nightclubs
Dance the night away or relax to live performances in lounges and nightclubs. There’s something going on all the time; we love Schooner’s Bar and the Pub for live music. And on our last cruise on Oasis of the Seas, we enjoyed the nightly music quiz in Boleros.
Unique Features You Will Love On Royal Caribbean
- Central Park
A serene outdoor area with real plants and speciality dining is available on Oasis-class ships. The first time I experienced Central Park, it blew my mind; I mean, a park on a ship. It’s such a cool area. - Boardwalk
The Boardwalk is one of my favourite areas on Oasis class ships. This family-friendly area has a carousel, hot dog stand, bars and dining venues and live entertainment. It is also the final destination of the Ultimate Abyss Slide. - SeaPlex
The largest indoor activity space at sea (on Quantum-class ships), featuring bumper cars, roller skating, and more. Also, this super cool area is a great family area. Plus if you enjoy a sports bar, we love Playmakers.
