The Boardwalk on Oasis of the Seas was the first ever Boardwalk at Seas when Oasis of the Seas launched in 2009. When you step onto the Boardwalk, one of the seven Neighbourhoods on this mega ship, you will discover that it is one of the most exciting areas to explore. This was my favourite area on the ship and one we spent a lot of time.

The Boardwalk is a vibrant and family-friendly spot that captures the charm of a seaside boardwalk, complete with entertainment, dining, and nostalgic attractions. Whether you’re travelling with kids or friends or on a solo adventure, the Boardwalk is fun for everyone. Here’s your complete guide to what’s on the Boardwalk on the Oasis of the Seas and how to make the most of it. Plus, the things we enjoyed in this fabulous space.
The AquaTheater On Oasis Of The Seas

The AquaTheater is the crown jewel of the Boardwalk. It’s where you can watch breathtaking water shows featuring high-diving stunts, synchronised swimming, and mesmerising acrobatics. The current show is Aqua 80, and it blew my mind, the cast is so talented.
Performances are held during the evening, but reserve your seats via the cruise planner app in advance and arrive early to enjoy the best view of this spectacular entertainment.
Rock Climbing Walls

Feel adventurous? Test your skills on the two towering rock climbing walls that flank the AquaTheater. These walls offer routes for climbers of all skill levels, and the view from the top is worth the effort. We are big fans of the rock climbing wall its a great activity.
Hand-Carved Carousel

This full-sized, hand-carved carousel is a delightful nod to old-fashioned boardwalks. It’s a favourite for kids and adults, making it the perfect photo opportunity. It’s free to ride and is normally open from 11 am till 5, then 6 pm till 9 pm. And yes, we did ride it, I would be rude not too.
The Boardwalk Arcade On Oasis of the Seas

Step back in time with the Boardwalk Arcade, featuring carnival-style games for all ages. From arcade sports games, a hall of mirrors along the edge and the legendary Zoltar this area of the boardwalk is so much fun.
The Ultimate Abyss

The Ultimate Abyss is just my favourite, taking you from the sports deck on 16 down to the Boardwalk on deck 6. We used this route down to playmakers all the time. This slide is not just for kids; it’s for kids of all ages. You are never too old to ride the Ultimate Abyss. You must be 44 inches to ride.
Dining Options On The Boardwalk on Oasis of the Seas

The Boardwalk dining scene is vibrant and diverse, from nostalgic meals at Johnny Rockets to pub-style bites at Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade. Quick snacks await at the Boardwalk Dog House, while Sugar Beach delights dessert lovers with candy and ice cream. Each spot contributes to the fun atmosphere, making it a culinary adventure for all.
Johnny Rockets

Craving classic American diner food? Johnny Rockets is the place to be. With burgers, fries, and milkshakes served in a retro 1950s-style setting, it’s a guaranteed hit. Don’t miss the staff’s impromptu singing performances, a fun twist to your meal. The dining price is $14.99 per person plus gratuities.
Top tip: this is also a great spot for an alfresco breakfast, which is free, unlike lunch and dinner.
Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade

We love Playmakers, having a sports-mad family, this is a sport we naturally radiate to. Now, I am not a sports fan, but it’s also the perfect place to people-watch whilst the boys catch up on the football scores. Playmakers also put out board games and Jenga; we have spent many hours playing games with friends as we enjoy a glass of wine, which is so much fun.
Playmakers is a must-visit. It’s the ultimate hangout spot with big screens showcasing live games, an arcade for gaming fun, and a menu full of delicious burgers, wings, sliders, and beer. We always make time to have a chilled evening and dine at Playmakers; the food is sooo good. But don’t use your dining package credits unless you have the ultimate package, as the prices are so reasonable. Nachos cost $8.99, 12 wings $18.99, and the best burgers ever $11.99, it’s such great value.
Boardwalk Dog House

This casual eatery serves a variety of hot dogs with endless topping options. It’s a quick and satisfying stop for a bite while exploring the Boardwalk, and the hotdogs are delicious.
Sugar Beach

A paradise for anyone with a sweet tooth, Sugar Beach offers a wide selection of candies and ice cream. Kids can create their own candy bags, making it a fun and interactive experience.
You’ll also find small shops and kiosks offering souvenirs, beachwear, and cruise essentials. It’s the perfect place to pick up a memento from your trip.
Shuttleboard On The Boardwalk

If you are a fan of Shuffleboard, this fab family deck game is hidden behind the Aqua Theatre and is the perfect place for a game with no distractions overlooking the wake views.
The Boardwalk on Oasis of the Seas Has The Perfect Family-Friendly Vibe

The Boardwalk’s lively atmosphere makes it a hub of activity for families. Children love the carousel, small play area and arcade games, while parents can relax at the bar. The whole family can also enjoy the evening AquaTheater shows. There’s truly something for everyone here.
The Boardwalk On Oasis of the Seas By Night

Don’t forget to check out the Boardwalk at night when it’s at its prettiest, even in the rain. And don’t miss the silent disco held out on the boardwalk, weather permitting, its so much fun.
The Boardwalk View Balcony Cabins

If you love the atmosphere and buzz of the Boardwalk, then check out the Boardwalk view balcony cabins. These are more affordable than ocean view balcony cabins and are right in the heart of all the action. And if you can get one towards the end you will get a great view of the aqua show.
