Today, we are going to take you on a tour of Central Park on Oasis of the Seas. We loved our recent transatlantic cruise on her. She is a marvel of modern cruising. Royal Caribbean changed cruising forever when they launched this mega ship in 2009.

And one of its most iconic features is Central Park, a tranquil open-air neighbourhood that feels like a lush urban park at sea. With its unique blend of nature, fine dining, and relaxation, Central Park offers an oasis of calm amidst the excitement of the ship. If you’re planning a cruise aboard Oasis of the Seas, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your time in this stunning space.

Central Park is the first-ever living park at sea, boasting over 20,000 plants and trees that create a serene and picturesque environment. Located in the heart of the ship, this open-air neighbourhood is a peaceful retreat, perfect for strolling, dining, or simply relaxing in the fresh sea breeze. There is also the option to shop for waters at the Omega shop.

With its elegant ambience, charming pathways, and live musicians, Central Park feels like a high-end, relaxed escape where you can chill as birds sing with a coffee or glass of wine and a book or play chess. This contrasts beautifully with the ship’s more lively areas.

Take a leisurely walk through Central Park’s lush pathways, lined with real trees and plants. The natural beauty, coupled with the open sky, provides a rare connection to nature while at sea. Benches are scattered throughout, offering the perfect spot to relax and soak in the atmosphere.

Dine in Style

Central Park is home to some of the ship’s most exquisite dining venues, and speciality dining feels like a real night out when you head out at night to a park filled with twinkling lights. We dined at all Central Park venues, as we purchased a 3-night dining package. All were fantastic; however, for us, the stand-out venue was 150 Central Park.

Central Park Library is a great lending library, where you can drop off any unwanted books and swap them for new titles to read. There is also a selection of childrens books so your weekly trip to the library became a little more special.

Central Park comes alive in the evenings with soft ambient lighting and live performances. Solo musicians, bands or string quartets often set the tone for a romantic and relaxing evening.

Some cabins overlook Central Park, offering a serene view and the soothing sounds of this green haven. What’s better than chilling on your balcony to the sound of bird song? But also, don’t forget to look up, it’s crazy that water slides are stretching out over the park, yet you don’t notice them unless you look up.
