Celebrity Silhouette Bravo Cruise Day 5, Vigo, Spain

May 24, 2018 by Sarah Christie Leave a Comment

Today we were up and enjoying breakfast just after the ship docked in Vigo.

And with yet another glorious day (The weather has been amazing so far on this cruise) we left the ship to explore Vigo.

The port side is steps away from town making this an easy town to get off and explore. Vigo is bustling busy town, making it a wonderful place to explore with lots of pretty steep winding streets and stairs up to the Citadel. It is a steep climb up, although you can use escalators to get almost to the top to enjoy the wonderful views of this pretty port town.

Getting down would be much more of a challenge if you have small children, as it is steep. However if you a physically able to climb up and down, the views of the rooftops and pretty winding streets are very much worth the effort.

Joe managed to hunt down the coolest sweet shop, now I am not a fan of sweets AT ALL but even I felt giddy about the quirky pastel décor and rows and rows of pretty sweet’s.

We spent some time ambling amongst the street and shops and people watching before Joe started to miss the ship and asking to go back on board.

We were grateful to get back on board the Celebrity Silhouette and hit the pool for a while to cool down.

That is the real beauty of being on a cruise the opportunity to explore or chill. When you are docked in port the choice is yours?  We have found as the boys have grown up that half a day exploring then getting back on board works really well for us as a family.

Joe had a fab time at dinner making shapes out of napkins with our waiter Roger, little touches like this make the service so personal. The food is incredible, but the service makes it just that bit more magical.

Tonight we got to see Katherine Jenkins and wow she was breathtaking to watch her voice is even more beautiful in real life. She is mesmerising to watch and at one stage it brought a tear to my eyes. And after more life music we head off to bed exhausted but chilled and happy.

Tomorrow we have a sea day so am hoping for great weather for a day chilling by the pool. We have managed to be busy the whole time and are looking forward to a day do nothing at all. See what we got up to yesterday.

Now read day 6 of the Bravo Cruise.
