Contrary to popular belief, the Maldives isn’t just a spot for honeymooners and couples. Of course, its romantic vibe does make it a great location for that premise, but relaxation and romance are not all the Maldives have to offer.

1. It’s a beautiful, natural environment

The Maldives are, of course, known for their beauty. The idyllic white-sand beaches, bright-blue waters and clear skies are picture-perfect landscapes that adorn many postcards. And while these are synonymous with peace and quiet, the wide open spaces in the Maldives are perfect for kids too. With so much room to play and explore, they can enjoy all of the beauty the Maldives has to offer while taking in the natural environment and clean air around them. 

From playing in the sand to climbing palm trees and swimming in clear blue sea, they’ll get to see sights they won’t come across at home. They can drink coconut water straight from the source and snorkel amongst coral reefs too! They may even see a dolphin leap across the beautiful ocean.

2. Island hopping creates a sense of adventure

The Maldives are notorious for its many islands and incredible resorts. It’s a tropical archipelago which consists of over 1000 islands, around 200 of which are inhabited. As such, during a family holiday to the Maldives, you are not limited to one place. You can take your kids on an adventure around the different islands and embrace the culture of each one. Imagine all the experiences they’ll get to enjoy during a single holiday! This is perfect for children that don’t like to sit still and need more stimulation as every day is an adventure.

3. The whole family can learn about exciting marine life

Going to the Maldives with kids Can be great for thier education too as It’s not just on the coast where all of the magic happens. Below the surface, there is a whole new world for your little ones to discover. The ocean surrounding the Maldives are adorned with magnificent marine life, and the coral reefs are home to an array of tropical fish.

A simple but fun activity, your children will love snorkelling in the Maldives. They will be able to explore exotic marine life such as manta rays, moray eels and sea turtles for hours on end. It’s also one of the top destinations in the world for whale and dolphin spotting. Not only is this a memorable experience, but it’s also a great way to teach your children about the importance of environmental conservation, which should help them to grow into intuitive, caring environmentalists.

4. There are so many fun activities to do

In the Maldives, you will never be bored – there’s always a fun activity to do. From relaxed days building sandcastles to snorkelling or even learning to surf, your children will treasure the experiences they have here for a lifetime. 

There are many boat trips available as well that are great for the whole family. These will teach you all about the culture of the islands and the animals that inhabit them. There are even family cooking lessons you can take on the beach, learning how traditional Maldivian dishes are made. Who knows, your kids may even come home with a new skill and a favourite hobby!
