I went onboard the Norwegian Encore on its first sailing after it came out of dry dock. The transatlantic on the 3rd of December 2024 went from Southampton UK to Miami Florida. She underwent some changes whilst in dry dock, so here is a little update about What’s new on with the refurbishment of the Norwegian Encore and everything you need to Know.
Key updates to the ship’s enhancement’s include the tranquil Spice H2O, featuring hot tubs, cooling pools, and daybeds for guests aged 18+, as well as expanded capacity for Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki. Palomar replaced Ocean Blue, offering Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
Larger Cagney’s Restaurant
Two of the company’s most beloved specialty dining venues were expanded to meet guest demand. Cagney’s Steakhouse, recently honoured with the 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for its exceptional wine program, is among the highlights. It is now bigger and better than ever.
New Fish Restaurant Palomar
Ocean Blue was converted to the guest-favorite Palomar, boasting elevated Mediterranean seafood cuisine. Palomar is the ultimate fish restaurant.
No More Laser Tag: Meet the New Spice H20
Replacing the laser tag arena, the new Spice H2O offers an elevated outdoor retreat for guests aged 18 and older. Designed by Studio Dado, this complimentary space combines the best features of Spice H2O from the Breakaway-Plus Class and Infinity Beach from the Prima Class. Guests can unwind in multiple hot tubs, relax on eight large daybeds surrounded by cooling pools, and enjoy cocktails from a spacious bar in this tranquil setting.
New Balcony Staterooms
24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms were added by repurposing a portion of the ship’s Observation Lounge. This makes the lounge on deck 15 smaller.
New Carpet’s
The NCL Encore was treated to new plush carpet’s throughout.
A Larger Teppanyaki
Teppanyaki, a hibachi-style favourite, was increased in it’s their capacity by utilizing space previously occupied by Los Lobos and Coco’s.
Redesigned Three Bedroom Haven Suites
To meet the growing demand for three-bedroom suites seen on Norwegian Prima, Norwegian Viva, and Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Encore’s Premier Owner’s Suites with Large Balconies in the Haven were upgraded from two bedrooms to three. These suites also feature three and a half bathrooms, a fully renovated living room, master bedroom, and upgraded outdoor balcony furniture, along with a brand-new separate dining room. The Haven by Norwegian® is the company’s exclusive, keycard-access-only “ship-within-a-ship” complex, offering premium amenities such as concierge service, a private pool area, and unparalleled privacy.
