We recently hopped off the Norwegian Encore and had fun exploring the Norwegian Encore Galaxy Pavilion, which is a whole room onboard packed with VR games! It is truly an unreal experience that is definitely worth a look whilst onboard.
The Galaxy Pavilion aboard the Norwegian Encore is an immersive entertainment complex featuring cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) experiences, interactive gaming, and advanced simulation rides. Designed to transport guests into captivating digital realms, the pavilion offers a diverse array of attractions suitable for various age groups. You will find a VR maze where you pick your own game to explore to racing cars and even a VR escape room. The whole room is dark, like being in outer space, with shiny star-set tiles and bright, luminous lights.

There is a range of different virtual experience’s in the pavilion these include;
- Virtual Reality Experiences: Guests can engage in a variety of VR scenarios, from thrilling roller coaster simulations to interactive adventures like paragliding and dinosaur encounters.
- Simulator Rides: The pavilion houses state-of-the-art simulators, including racing experiences and a 7D theater, providing multi-sensory journeys through different environments.
- Escape Rooms: For family challenges, the pavilion offers an escape room experience that test problem-solving skills in an underwater setting.

How much does the Norwegian Encore Galaxy Pavilion Cost?
You can pay per ride which is $9 or you can buy a variety of packages to save money;
- The Hourly Pass: Access to the pavilion is available at approximately $30 for a one-hour session.
- Unlimited Pass: For enthusiasts planning frequent visits, an unlimited pass is offered at around $199 for a seven-day sailing, granting unrestricted access to most pavilion attractions.
What did we think about the VR on Encore?
We loved it! Some Visitors often find the Norwegian Encore Galaxy Pavilion to be a highlight of their cruise experience, praising the innovative VR games and simulators. However, some guests note that after an initial visit, the allure may diminish, suggesting that an hour-long session might suffice for casual participants.
We however thought it was great to dip in and out of every now and then for some light hearted fun. We tried the race track, the Jurassic Escape, the Finger Coaster and the escape room. we loved them all! Next time I will try walking the plank as I could not pluck up the courage this time! The Captains Quest escape room was $15 dollars each so more pricey and it took us about 25 minutes.

The Descent VR Ride
Join a daring research team stationed in the icy Nordic wilderness, tasked with uncovering the truth behind a missing group of scientists. The journey begins as you step into a lift that descends deep into a dark, echoing cavern. Strange shadows flicker around you, and unsettling sounds grow louder the further you go — building a tense, eerie atmosphere.
Armed with a blaster, you’ll need to stay alert and ready to defend yourself from whatever may be lurking in the depths. The real question is: what will you find when you reach the bottom? Brace yourself for a heart-pounding, immersive experience that keeps you on edge until the very last moment.

Walk the Plank
Walk the Plank is an exhilarating virtual reality game that challenges you to face your fear of heights. Step onto a narrow plank suspended hundreds of feet in the air, with the goal of rescuing a stranded kitty. The combination of immersive VR technology and real-world effects — like fans simulating the wind — creates a thrillingly realistic experience. Strap on the headset, steady your nerves, and carefully inch your way across the plank. This game even has a harness as so many people were falling over! Successfully rescue the kitty and make it back to safety — but beware, one wrong step and it’s game over!

The Flymax
FlyMax is a virtual paragliding game which gives you the genuine experience of paragliding. Paragliding is not only for adventure enthusiasts, it is now possible for kids as well as adults. The VR headset gives you a bird’s eye view of the land and nature from a high altitude. I can not imagine how scary this must feel!

The VR Maze
The VR Maze is much like a gaming head set experience. You choose your game such as Rabid Rabbits or Indiana Jones style temple games in an area of walled mazes.
SR8 Radical
Step into a real SR8 Radical! Immerse yourself into a huge panoramic display with over 24.9 million pixels of heart racing speeds of a SR8 Radical car! Choose from race tracks all over the world and even choose your vehicle such as a Ferrari! This was by far the best value with about a 15 minute ride.

Captains Quest Escape room
Step into a diving pod and dive to the ocean floor down to a mysterious ancient shipwreck. When the diving pod suddenly crashes into the ship you must find clues and use your wits to escape before the oxygen runs out in 45 minutes. The first part of this game is the VR where you wear a head set to get an idea of the game. Then you are taken into an escape room where you have to find clues and move objects around the room. This part is not VR but so much fun. You are in an old ship wreck that you have to get to the surface and save all the treasure.

Have you ever dreamt of experiencing the scariest roller coaster ride in the world? Well, now it is here! You actually design the thrill path yourself! In this two-part experience game, draw the roller coaster ride as you add in twists, drops, rolls, and turns, each crazier than the other. The roller coaster is at your fingertips! Next allow virtual reality technology to take you on the insane ride you have just designed. This was madness when we tried this so much fun to design your own ride!
