Attending Munich’s Oktoberfest is a bucket-list experience for any fan of Bavarian culture, beer, and festivities. Special dray horses are used to pull the beer barrels from the breweries to the festival to officially this symbolically starts the 16 days of “Wiesn”.

At classic German Oktoberfest you will find gingerbread hearts hung from strings. These lebkuchenherzn which are decorated with colourful icing and German sayings. The hearty food is just as iconic—think giant pretzels, roasted chicken, bratwurst, and dumplings. Many attendees don traditional outfits, with men donning lederhosen and women in colourful dirndls, adding to the cultural charm.
