Why You Need A GoPro For Your Next Cruise

Share

Today we are chatting about travel tech and my new GoPro, which I have to say I am slightly in love with. We are building up to our next cruise in October. We plan to spend a glorious week exploring Spanish ports. Followed by a week at sea, with lazy mornings in our suite and coffee on the balcony. As we explore the Oasis of the Seas and all she has to offer as we sail across to Caribbean waters and disembark in Fort Lauderdale.

I have been busy putting together everything I need for our cruise—you know what it’s like? Clothes, toiletries, shoes, and more shoes. But I also wanted to share my new GoPro. I have been coveting this for some time now and wanted to share why I think a GoPro is the perfect all-in-one action camera for your next cruise. And why you don’t need to be a creator to own this incredible but punchy little camera.

Capture Ocean Sunrises and Sunsets

Ways to use a GoPro on a cruise

A transatlantic cruise offers uninterrupted views of the horizon, perfect for capturing stunning sunrises and sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean. But practice with settings before your trip to ensure you are familiar with the camera settings. With GoPro offering up to 5.5K resolution, you can record these moments in vivid detail, preserving the open sea’s serene beauty.

There is also an option for low shutter mode recording to track stars at night. But what I love about the GoPro Creator edition is that it comes with a Media Mod. This allows you to attach a light and mic to deal with adverse lighting and sound conditions.

The GoPro is Waterproof for Water Fun

The GoPro’s waterproof capabilities make it ideal for poolside and ocean fun. Whether swimming, enjoying the ship’s water slides, lounging by the pool, or enjoying the beach on a port day. You can capture every splash and smile.

This is perfect when cruising with kids and lets you capture every moment. The waterproof housing (without the Media Mod) ensures the GoPro can handle submersion. You can even take it underwater for unique and fun shots. Plus, order a floating grip or case for added safety to avoid the camera sinking if it slips out of your hand.

Create Time-Lapse Videos of Sea Days

During the long stretches of sea days, the GoPro’s time-lapse feature allows you to document the subtle changes in the ocean and sky as you travel across the Atlantic. Whether it’s the movement of clouds, the changing light throughout the day, or the gentle rolling of the waves. Time-lapse videos will let you condense hours into beautiful, shareable moments. Its also possible to film in portrait and landscape for desktop and social media ready memories.

Be Adventure-Ready With Your GoPro

The GoPro is built for adventure, making it the perfect companion for port excursions. Whether you’re hiking rugged trails, exploring historic landmarks, or wandering through scenic towns, the GoPro has a horizon lock and video stabilisation for the best quality footage. With its rugged build, you won’t have to worry about delicate handling, allowing you to put your phone away, relax, focus on the experience and let the camera do the work.

Hands-Free Filming

On a cruise, you’ll want to be fully immersed in the activities, and the GoPro’s versatile mounting options make this possible. Attach it to a chest mount, helmet, or even a selfie stick and use the voice controls and you can record activities like rock climbing, zip-lining, or simply taking a stroll around the ship, all while keeping your hands free. This means you can capture the action from your perspective without missing a beat.

Choice of Lenses for Scenic Shots

The GoPro’s choice of lenses is perfect for capturing the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean and the grandeur of your cruise ship. Whether you’re on deck capturing the ship cutting through the waves or onshore photographing the expansive views from a coastal cliff, the wide-angle and hyper-view lenses ensures that every detail, from horizon to foreground, is included in your shot.

Cruises are known for their entertainment, from West End-style shows to live music performances. The GoPro’s high-quality video capabilities ensure you can capture these moments around the ship with excellent sound and video clarity. You can relive the excitement of the activities, the energy of the dance floors, or the buzz of the Royal Promenade.

Compact and Portable

The GoPro’s small size and lightweight design make it incredibly easy to carry wherever you go. Unlike bulkier cameras, it can easily fit into your pocket, bag, or be worn on your wrist. This portability means you can quickly take it out to capture spontaneous moments, whether you’re on deck, exploring a new port, or enjoying a meal at one of the ship’s restaurants. Its ease of use ensures that you never miss a moment.

You can record so many memories to keep those cruise moments alive. The great thing is that all the video content is stored on the memory card, thus saving over-filling your phone or Apple Watch and iCloud. However, it is easily accessible via the GoPro app, making sharing on the go easy.

This is a sponsored collaboration with very, but my love for my GoPro is real!
