We are avid cruisers and have cruised for many years. It’s an excellent way to see the world. However, like all holiday destinations, it has its pitfalls. And it’s not always down to the cruise line.
Cruise Passengers You Want To Avoid On Your Next Cruise

As we have cruised, we have built a list of passengers we want to avoid. Now, these are extremes, so indulge us whilst we are have a moment and get it off our chest.
We have met some lovely people and lifelong friends on our travels. But there is always the minority, and that is who we want to celebrate today. Those people who have you rolling your eyes in despair, and sometimes having a good old laugh at.
1. The Moaner

Right, now things do go wrong sometimes and people have the right to get what they paid for. But the serial moaner is in a league of their own. You will often find them with an angry face in the queue for guest services. The great thing is you always know where to find them as they are there every time you pass.
2. The Cruiser Who Can’t Wait To Tell You How Much They Paid

We all love a bargain; we always try to look for a deal, book early and ask our agent to look for extras. But this cruiser is stealth; they spend their life on Groupon and unearth deals you wouldn’t dream possible in your wildest dreams. Hats off to them I say. But then they spend the whole cruise telling everyone who will listen how much they paid, and how much you could have saved.
3. The Status Snob

Now this cruiser has worked hard to get their position, we also work towards status. However, what we don’t appreciate is the cruisers who feel they should be at the front of the line. Push small children to the sea to get the first ice cream and say often and loudly do you know how many cruises I have been on.
4. The, My Feet Are Perfectly Fine To Put On The Table

I’m just putting this out there: no one’s feet are okay to put on any table—end of conversation.
5. The Balcony Smoker

This person doesn’t care about the rules or safety. They have a fire won’t happen to me attitude and are happy to take your life in their hands for a nicotine fix rather than find the smoking area.
6. The Shouter

This person is a sharer; they love everyone around them to know exactly what they earn, who they vote for and their deepest darkest secrets. And you are in for a treat if they make a phone call, as they like to share that too.
7. The Kiddy Sharer

This parent loves their children so deeply that they believe you should, too. They think it’s perfectly fine for the little darling to lie under your dinner table as they smile on proudly from the next table.
8. The Kid Hater

Even worse, this cruiser can be seen in the kid’s areas scowling at the noise and happiness. They hate kids but go on ships packed to the rafters with them and then spend their whole time scowling.
9. The Over Friendly

Now, this person means well; they just love meeting new friends. But be careful they don’t latch on to you and make you their new best friend.
10. The Sunbed Hogger

This is the worst kind of cruiser: reserving a bed at 7 am and then rocking up at 11 to enjoy the sun. Getting a sunbed near a pool on a cruise takes serious commitment with people like this around. We avoid the pool seating area; there isn’t even any point trying.
11. The Chair Hogger

The is probably the sun bed hogger at night. This person will knock you down in a stampede to get the chair they want for a quiz. We recently had a hogger run from behind and lie across three seats as we were sitting down at a table. She proceeded to say this seat is taken. I kid you not!
12.The Guy Who Wears His Dressing Gown On Formal Night

Now, kudos to this guy, but we couldn’t not mention him. On a recent cruise, he meandered into Vintages wine bar in his dressing gown on formal night for a glass of wine.
Cruise Ships Are A People Watchers Paradise

It takes all sorts, and that’s what’s wonderful about cruising. While there will always be people who make you roll your eyes, there are also lots of amazing, interesting people with some incredible stories to tell.
