Our family cruise on Royal Caribbean’s newest Quantum Class ship, Odyssey of the Seas, has come and gone! After experiencing it firsthand, I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to share all my insights in a guide to Odyssey of the Seas and tell you exactly what was onboard this incredible Royal Caribbean ship.

As much as you want to dive in a enjoy your cruise experience, it’s always great to have the facts to help you choose your cruise, dining options and Royal Caribbean drinks packages. Or is it just me who wants to be prepared and likes to know what to expect? Also if you are cruise planning stage then knowing what’s on a ship such as Odyssey Of The Seas, helps you make the booking decision.

A Few Facts About Odyssey Of The Seas, The Newest Quantum Class Ship

Odyssey Of The Seas launched in 2021, it’s a Quantum Class Ship that holds 5,510 passengers at full capacity with 2,105 cabins and a crew of 1633.

She is 1,138 feet long, 135 feet wide and weighs 167,704  gross tons. You will find a total of 16 decks, 14 guest decks, 2 service/crew decks and a total of 17 guest elevators. I know all geeky information but fascinating, check out our guide for all Royal Caribbean Ships By Size.

What’s On Royal Caribbean’s, Odyssey Of The Seas

Odyssey Of The Seas is a Quantum Class Ship, designed differently from Oasis-class ships. You won’t find a Boardwalk, Central Park, or Aqua Theatre on Odyssey Of The Seas. However, quantum-class ships have been designed to stand out and be different. It’s all about innovation, and Odyssey Of The Seas has innovation in abundance.

To give you an idea of some of the vast array of activities available check out the list, however bear in mind it doesn’t end there. Once onboard, every day your Crown and Anchor newsletter will be filled with activities, demonstrations and lectures. Add that to days in port exploring gorgeous locations and you really can’t go wrong.

The Flowrider

Children must be 6 years or older, and supervised if under 12. You must also be at least 58 inches tall for stand-up surfing and 52 inches for bodyboarding. The Flowrider is free; however, you can also book additional lessons for a fee. A group lesson is currently £47.53 for our next 2026 session.

You have to be a minimum of 3 years old to take part. Additionally you must weigh less than 103 kg (16.2 stone) if shorter than 6ft, or less than 93 kg (14.6 stone) if 6ft or taller.

The RipCord® by iFLY® simulator does offer some free sessions on port days; however, you have to book them quickly, as they fill up. A Sea Day session is currently £30 on our 2026 sailing.

North Star

Be elevated above the ship for panoramic views of the ship and sea. You must be at least 107 cm tall, or 122 cm to ride alone, and weigh a maximum of 136 kg (21.4 st). The North Star does offer some free sessions on port days; however, like the iFly, you have to book these quickly as they book up. You can book the extended version on a sea day, this is currently showing at £27.07 in our cruise app.

Rock Climbing Wall

The Rock Climbing Wall is a fab family activity, and fabulous for sea views and a little competitive sports. You have to be 6 years old to climb. The Rock Climbing Wall is a free activity.

SeaPlex Activity Centre

This revolutionary space is packed with activities, a full-size sports court, gaming areas, bumper cars and the Playmakers Sports bar, which also has chill-out areas, pool tables and arcade games. It’s a super cool area and one I think we will struggle keeping our boys away from.

The bumper cars run on the sports court at intervals, and although it’s very popular, you can still wait in line. However, do double-check this onboard. Also, you must be 5 years old and 107 cm tall to ride with a guardian or 8 years and 122 cm tall to ride alone.

Kids Clubs On Odyssey Of The Seas

For an in-depth guide to the kids clubs, check out our Royal Caribbean Kids Club Guide. However, be warned that you will be begging the kids to spend time with you. Fortunately, the Zoom wifi and app is an excellent way of keeping track of older kids or teens if they have self-sign out from kids clubs.

Please note, kids club reservations are required due to number restrictions.

  • Adventure Ocean Babies 6- 36 months
  • Aquanauts 3-5 years
  • Explorers 6-8 years
  • Voyagers  9-11 years
  • Youngers Teens 12-14 years
  • Older Teens 15-17 years

Adventure Ocean Babies is open and available to book. The nursery provides nursery care and activities throughout the day with trained professionals for babies and toddlers ages 6 to 36 months. Although it’s better to make reservations, walk-ups are welcome but only if the nursery isn’t full. There is a $6 per hour fee up until 6 pm and $10 per hour fee thereafter.

For children 3 and above the club is free, but there is a late stay charge for $10 per hour after 10 pm.

Pools On Odyssey Of The Seas

Royal Caribbean have created a glorious Caribbean vibe on the pool deck with a beach pool and Lime and Coconut Caribbean Bar. However there is also a place for tranquility the Solarium Whirlpools are the perfect place with a covered area with loungers.

The main pool is where it’s all happening, and the perfect place for families, especially as Splashaway Bar is directly opposite, which has splash areas for little ones.

Solarium Pool

The Solarium Pool, located in the Solarium, is a popular area on board and perfect for those who want to get away from it all, swim in the indoor pool, or chill in the whirlpools. It’s also an area which is exclusively for people 18 years or older.

Forward Pool

The forward pool is a great place to chill in the pool or surrounding hot tubs. It seems a little quieter, but still a cool colourful area.

Splashaway Bay

This mini area is perfect for little ones with a couple of water slides and shallow water; it’s ideal for toddlers. It also has a separate baby Splash Zone for babies in diapers.

Bars On Board Odyssey of the Seas

Odyssey Of The Seas has 14 bars, that includes the suite lounge, diamond lounge and pool bars. Thus giving you so much choice at all times of day and night, especially if you fancy stopping for a cocktail and spot of people watching or stopping for a cold glass of wine after a busy day in port.

You’ll find 15 restaurants on Restaurants On Odyssey Of The Seas, 7 which are included in the price of your Royal Caribbean Cruise. Also 8 that have extra charges or count as speciality dining.

On top of this you can opt for in room dining, just grab a coffee from Starbucks (At an extra cost)

The Royal Caribbean Dining Packages Available

There are several choices for speciality dining packages, here’s a guide of what you can expect to pay, but prices vary, but also check out our in depth dining package guide.

  • Unlimited Dining Package, £31.21per adult per day.
  • The 3 Night Dining Package, £119.26 per adult.
  • Chops Plus 1 Dining Package, £74.54 per adult.
  • Taste Of Royal Lunch, £33.93 per adult.
  • Chef’s table £75.42 per adult.

Children are complementary from age of 0-5. You have two options for Children aged 6-12. The dining plan costs half the adult price. However you don’t need to book the package for kids, you can pay as you go, this way children 6-12 pay $12.99 per child to dine and must order from the kid’s menu.
