Royal Caribbean revamped their private island, Perfect At Day CocoCay in 2019 creating a Bahamian paradise for families. In this post we are going to look at what you’ll find at Perfect Day for families with babies and toddlers. Because when you’re cruising with a baby or toddler there are certain things you need to make your a day a success.

What is Perfect Day at CocoCay?
Perfect Day at CocoCay is Royal Caribbeans private slice of paradise in the Bahamas exclusively for Royal Caribbean guests. Packed with family friendly activities, a water park, beautiful beaches, ziplining and every water sport you can think off. Perfect Day promises so deliver of the perfect family beach day in the Caribbean.
Getting Around Perfect Day at CocoCay
You can take a stroller along onto Perfect Day with you, however complimentary beach strollers are located throughout the Island which are available on a first come first served basis should you want to leave your stroller behind.
The walk time down the pier, from ship to Arrivals Plaza, is roughly 6 minutes. There is also a complimentary Pier Tram that runs on a loop, up and down the pier should you not feel like taking the walk.
An Island Tram also runs every 15 minutes throughout the day, this includes five stops around CocoCay stopping at;
- Arrivals Plaza (near Thrill Waterpark);
- South Beach;
- Coco Beach Club and Up, Up and Away;
- Oasis Lagoon; and Chill Island.
- A tram dedicated to guests of Coco Beach Club will run approximately every 10 minutes, all day, between the ship and Coco Beach Club. Guests can board the tram near Arrivals Plaza.
Does It Take Long To Walk Around The Island?
No not at all getting around on foot is easy if you follow the Perfect Day at CocoCay Island map, to give you an idea, here are the walk times from the arrivals plaza to different areas around the Island and a map below.
• Thrill Waterpark, 3 minutes
• Harbor Beach, 5 minute
• Oasis Lagoon, 8 minutes
• Chill Island, 5-10 minutes
• Breezy Bay at Chill Island, 10 minutes
• South Beach, 10 minutes
• Coco Beach Club, 10 minutes
Is There Daycare Available At CocoCay?
No, there is no dedicated childcare available the island is geared more towards families spending time together. However Adventure Ocean will still remain open onboard the ship, if you want a chilled afternoon in the adults only area after the kids have exhausted all the slides.
Are There Dedicated Baby Changing Facilities Available At Perfect Day?
Yes, baby change facilities can be found in the bathrooms around the islands. There are several bathrooms located around Captain Jill’s Galleon, Splashaway Bay, Oasis Lagoon and Chill Island so you never have far to walk to get to a bathroom.
Can Babies Swim In The Pool With Swim Diapers When Visiting Perfect Day At CocoCay?
Yes, unlike onboard the ship where swim pools are limited. Babies and toddlers with swim diapers can swim in all of the pools at Perfect Day, and of course also in the ocean at all beaches. Be sure to take a supply of diapers and swim nappies with you.
Are There Life Jacket Available At CocoCay?
Yes, there are swimming life jackets in a variety of sizes situated near every pool which are free to use.
Where do You Leave Your Valuables?
There are lockers throughout the island for a fee of $10 per day and are available in 5 different locations, thus you can decided where your base will be and get a locker close by. Especially if you have older children intending to use the slides, or want to go for a dip in the pool. No loose items are permitted on the water slides.
Are Beach Towels Provided On Perfect Day At CocoCay?
Beach towels are available onboard your ship, these can be brought onto the island. you are able to refresh these throughout the day as desired, at one of two towel stations. You must remember to bring your towels back to the ship with you.
What’s Free On CocoCay At Perfect Day.
There is no admission fee to visit Perfect Day at CocoCay. And many of the activities at Perfect Day at CocoCay are free of charge. However the are also a selection of pay for experiences.
Free Experiences For Families Include;
The Oasis Lagoon
The Oasis Lagoon at Perfect Day is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. This is the perfect place to enjoy the Caribbean sun. Beach chairs and umbrella are free of charge to use and the area is split into 3. One of which being a family-friendly area with sloping entry which is perfect for cruising kids to wander in an out safely.
The Oasis Lagoon at Perfect Day at CocoCay also has three swim up islands with in water seating, a swim up bar and underwater music. Who wouldn’t want to spend a day around this glorious 33,175 square feet pool?
Captain Jill’s Galleon
Loaded with slides and water cannons this 60 feet long pirate ship has 16 water cannons, 4 telescope, 5 slides a crow’s nest with bridge, climbing net, porthole windows and a Splash Pad promising little ones hours of water fun.
Splashaway Bay
Can be found on many Royal Caribbean Ship however this larger CocoCay version offers water bucket, cannons, 6 waters slides, one of those being a curly slide and jets on a soft padded slip proof floor for little ones to safely run and splash at their hearts content.
- Weight Restrictions for Splashaway: 200 lbs. maximum
Chill Island and South Beach
Offering plenty of free beach chairs with umbrellas and beachside activities. This is the perfect place to chill with little ones, build sandcastles and splash in the sea.
However if you want to treat yourself there are also 20 cabanas, 175 clamshells and 35 daybeds available to hire. Cabana hires starts at around $299.
Free Dining A CocoCay
Yes although there are speciality dining options there is also free dining options to refuel at;

- Chill Grill
- Snack Shack ( there are 3 on the island)
Can You Use Your Royal Caribbean Drinks Package A CocoCay?
Yes, you can use your pre purchased drinks packages at Perfect Day or indeed charge drinks with your sea-pass just like onboard the ship.
